Instructions & Troubleshootings
1)
Getting to the site
From
PrintThreeToronto.com, getting to our FTP upload site can be done by clicking
on "Send a Job" or "Send
File to us". The action will
redirect you to our FTP site. You should
see a form to fill in some information about the job.
If you don't see the form, try the link at the top of the page to go to the backup FTP site. If you can't access to either site, please
call us at 416-481-5159 for technical assistance.
We have a "primary" FTP site to accept the uploaded files directly to our internal computers & a "backup" FTP site to buffer jobs at our head office server in case the primary site is down or inaccessible for any reason.
2)
Filling in the form
You
must complete the fields with the RED asterisk (*) while
those fields with GREEN asterisks (*) are optional. Note: Make sure your email address is entered correctly so that you would be able
to receive a receipt if the job upload is successful.
Most
fields have been set to the most common default choices to speed up the form
filling-in process. Future alternative option if you're a returning client
to log-in & retrieve your profile is being developed & will be available
should the need arise to integrate with our internal workflow.
You
can choose to send the job to one of our staff members in the "Attention
to:" for faster job facilitation if other information has been pre-arranged
with the destinated person.
3)
Attaching Files
You
can attach any file up to 2 GB in size (except possibly hostile files
that have extensions such as .exe, .com or .vbs
etc. - we do not process any of these files even they're compressed due to
security risks) . Please input as much
info about the job as you can so that we can better understand & determine
the best action to execute the job.
4)
Sending the Job
When
clicking on "Send Job(s) Now", there should be a small progress
window being displayed to show you how far the upload has undergone. When
the upload is done, you should see a confirmation page announcing that the
upload was a success. At the same time, you should also receive a
receipt emailed to you.
Every
job uploaded to us is secured with 128-bit RC4 Encryption to ensure
our clients' confidentiality so you should not worry that your file(s) might
be "leaked" during transmission.
If
you don't see the progress window while uploading but seeing a confirmation
afterwards, there's likely a problem with your firewall or web filter program
which might have been set to suppress all types of "pop-up" in some
annoying sites. This is normal &
should not affect your upload, which should have completed successfully.
If
you don't see any confirmation page or a "cannot find server" error,
please email or call us at
416-481-5159 for assistance.
5) Job Reference
Each file that you upload to us
will have a ID string of a 14-digit number attached to the front of the file
name. You can find this number in your email receipt (at the bottom). This
number is basically a "stamp" of the date & time that the job
has been received in the format: YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS. Also note that any space
in the file name would be replaced with the underscore "_" by the system.
When calling us for the status
of the job, please refer to this ID number & also the person that you
have specified in the "Attention to:" field when submitting the
job.
